Hand Me Downs collects gently-used, wearable clothing. Our mission is to keep clothing out of landfills, create revenue for our container hosts, and provide high-quality used clothing for people that wouldn't otherwise have access to it. Hand Me Downs was founded in 2018 by a small group of people that have worked in the textile reuse industry for many years. We saw the need for a small, local company to provide a place for New England residents to hand down wearable clothing they no longer need. When we drove by donation containers and saw trash left outside or donations left out in the rain, we knew by sticking to a small geographic region, we could provide the kind of responsiveness needed to keep containers clean and accessible for donations.
