If taxes are, indeed, one of life's certainties, then the Indiana Department of Revenue has a certain future. As the Hoosier State's principal tax collection agency, the Indiana Department of Revenue administers the applicable tax laws of the state of Indiana. It's also charged with collecting state taxes, including personal and corporate income and excise taxes, as well as some 30 other tax programs, such as aircraft license, alcoholic beverage, gas, hazardous waste disposal, inheritance, riverboat admission, tobacco, and utility taxes. The agency operates about a dozen district offices located throughout the state.
