Madison Area Technical College is a school in Madison. Madison Area Technical College (MATC) is a technical and community college that offers courses in liberal arts and sciences, adult basic education, and technical training. Students often enter careers in biotechnology, broadcast captioning, internet development, mechanics, or law enforcement. The college, which is the largest member of the Wisconsin Technical College System, provides education to about 44,000 students each year. Many students go on to transfer to the University of Wisconsin or other UW system schools. MATC was founded in 1912 and includes 10 college facilities spread among five campuses in south central Wisconsin.
