One of Mexico's main airlines, Compañía Mexicana de Aviación flies to 50-plus destinations throughout the Americas from its hub in Mexico City with its fleet of about 60 jets, mostly Airbus models. Budget subsidiary Click Mexicana serves some 25 domestic destinations, and Mexicana Vacations offers travel packages with hotels, airfare, and rental cars. Mexicana extends its network as a member of the Oneworld code-sharing alliance, led by American Airlines and British Airways. (Code-sharing enables airlines to sell tickets on one another's flights and offer more destinations.) The carrier also shares codes with Lufthansa and Qantas. Mexicana filed for bankruptcy protection in 2010, forcing it to idle operations.
