NAXA is a technical consulting firm providing specific services of GIS mapping and web based geo-database preparation, management and dissemination. The company was established in 2014 by a group of Geomatics Engineers and has since been working on the integration of Information Technology for mapping and geo-data management. The core mission of the company is to advocate for the better use of spatial data and is driven by the motto “Location matters!”. Working on the intersection of GIS mapping and IT, the company has gained specific experience on the use of web and mobile technology for the purpose of geo-tagged data collection, management, analysis and dissemination. The company promotes the use of open data, particular OpenStreetMaps and has used open data in most of its projects. As professionals in the sector of digital mapping and geo-information management, we develop platforms that can help in collecting, visualizing ,analyzing disseminating geo data. Most of what we do and who we are as a team is built upon the belief that everything in the world is associated to some geographic context. We try and find geo-spatial patterns in data by plotting geographic locations of the data over digital maps and make interactive web and mobile platforms. The company has a diverse team of GIS analysts, surveyors (aerial and terrestrial), software developers, researchers, data analysts and managerial staff. It has implemented a wide range of technologies for digital mapping and geo-data management. NAXA has not only delivered technical solutions but also fostered a culture of research and development within the team. With openness to exploration of adoptable technologies around the globe, the company has always implemented latest frontier technologies in its projects. After Nepal Earthquake 2015, NAXA has worked intensively on projects around DRR, reconstruction, information dissemination and filling the data void.
