The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) is one of the Nation’s largest private community-based providers of human services to Veterans who are experiencing challenges following their military service. Now in its third decade, the NECHV is a private institution with a very public mission of offering a broad array of programs and services that enable success, reintegration, meaningful employment, and independent living. The NECHV is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit, community-based support organization dedicated to serving challenged Veterans of all eras. The NECHV was founded in 1989 as a shelter for Veterans experiencing the disruptive condition of homelessness; it has transformed its focus to a Veteran-centric health and wellness service provider. The Center now offers more effective and timely services for the most disaffected and vulnerable Veterans by providing more prevention and wellness focus programs. The NECHV serves Veterans in need from every era including those from the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, regardless of where they lived or may travel. The New England Center and Home for Veterans is dedicated to ending homelessness for our Nation's Veterans.Located at 17 Court Street, the downtown Boston facility contains 59 affordable apartments, a distinct and separate 17 bed female Veterans transitional dormitory, and over 300 transitional and emergency beds.Over 350 Veterans reside at NECHV each night.Each year, NECHV serves over 130,000 resident meals.1,000 Veterans complete NECHV vocational training programs each year.More than 400 Veterans find permanent homes through NECHV each year.Current NECHV Veteran programs include Education, Clinical Support, Employment and Housing.We are open 24/7 every day of the year, serving Veterans.
