Quitting made easy.
In late 2018, Seven Georgia Tech students recognized a long overlooked problem which still plagued their community, despite social and technological advances towards smoking cessation. Nix is an emerging product in the cessation and nicotine replacement market. Essentially a smart e-cigarette, Nix precisely controls nicotine concentration in each puff and automatically weans the user off of nicotine. Traditional quit aids require the user to buy products frequently and dose themselves, which they often fail to do properly. By addressing this compliance problem, our goal is to increase a smoker's chances of quitting, while making the process easier and less discomforting. In only a few short months of prototyping, the team took part in the 2019 Georgia Tech InVenture Prize. Against 116 other inventions, Nix was admitted into the finals and won the People's Choice Award. The device has been featured in the Georgia Tech Daily Digest and the popular startup publication, Hypepotamus. Driving forward, our company is taking part in Georgia Tech's renowned Startup Launch program this summer. We will continue develop our prototype and obtain real-world data with a first batch of beta testers. We will also develop our brand, establish our business and manufacturing operations, further protect our assets, and obtain funding. Quitting can be uncomfortable, discouraging, and even painful. That's why 94% of people who try to quit, end up smoking again. Our goal at Nix is to create a product which people can rely on and prevent them from becoming just another statistic. Nix is a consumer diagnostic company that develops a sweat-based biometric sensor to monitor hydration levels for athletes.
