The Company also develops diagnostic software, provides service process consulting, and develops production test equipment for original equipment manufacturers. Omitec's services include automation, information management, design and manufacturing, and support and maintenance. Omitec tries to make auto makers and mechanics omniscient when it comes to car trouble. The company builds a range of diagnostic equipment used at every stage of an automobile's life cycle. Car manufacturers use the company's equipment to ensure that their designs for everything from engine exhaust systems to power windows work in the real world. Omitec's products include large dynamometers, as well as handheld PC-based testers used to check exhaust emissions, air conditioning, and air-bag settings. The company was established as Trilec in 1970 and went through a series of ownership changes leading up to an MBO in 1998.
