There's no denial of the fact that the food we eat today is full of toxins and noxious agricultural chemicals. The green revolution paved the way indiscriminate use of pesticides and chemicals in order to increase the production but proved detrimental over the years. It resulted in polluting the soil and water and the overall Eco-system. Use of toxic chemicals in crop production became the primary cause of many serious diseases like diabetes, asthma, allergy,cancer, etc. It also degraded the soil health and balance of the nature was disturbed. Organic farming is the need of the hour. Organic farming is the process of farming using the natural inputs without the use of chemicals. We, at Organic King are on a mission to initiate an Organic movement in Odisha. In spite of having favourable climatic conditions and sufficient irrigation facilities, the small and marginal farmers of the state are not able to leverage the benefits of commercial agriculture. We are a for-profit social enterprise with a goal to promote profitable and sustainable way of doing organic farming in the state and bring a positive change in the lives of the small and marginal farmers of Odisha. How do we do it? We are launching an e-commerce platform where a farmer gets every resources to do organic farming delivered at their doorsteps, starting from training & consulting to buying nutrients, manures and other agri-inputs to marketing & selling their produce and making good profit.
