Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialists is a veteran owned business. It is owned and operated by Dr. Karl J. Sheaffer, DPT, and his wife Cynthia Sheaffer, PTA. OPTS is committed to providing expert one-on-one, hands-on care to each of our patients. This personalized treatment from the time of initial evaluation through the entire rehabilitation process is what sets OPTS apart from the large volume-oriented practices that are so common today. Dr. Sheaffer focuses on resolving the cause of your condition. He achieves outstanding results by resolving problems, not treating symptoms. Our patients are treated by the same physical therapist for each and every session. Dr. Sheaffer will customize a physical therapy program to the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Sheaffer is one of the first Pennsylvania Direct Access licensed physical therapists in the Lehigh Valley. Direct Access permits specially licensed physical therapists to evaluate and treat patients without a physician's prescription for the first 30 days of care. What does this mean for our patients?
