The Planet Mars Foundation is an NGO organization in Kallianpur, Udupi in the State of Karnataka in India, founded by Rakshanda (age 15) who is currently studying abroad. The foundation was officially inaugurated on June 2017, and is approved by and affiliated with the Department of Women and Child Welfare of the Government of Karnataka (DWC). Currently, the foundation is taking care of 30 kids, who are orphans or destitute. The foundation is collaborating with nearby schools to facilitate the education of these children. Furthermore, the foundation has employed qualified staff for all administrative tasks, in addition to tutors, a warden, and serving staff. In the next five years, the organisation aims to take care of 100 orphans/destitute children, by expanding at a rate of an additional 20 children every year. Vision: Our vision is to see that no child should live without the basic necessities of life, regardless of their life circumstances. We, the Planet Mars Foundation, want to ensure that each child will be able to reintegrate into their communities as healthy, happy, responsible, and independent adults. Mission: Our primary mission at The Planet Mars Foundation is to contribute and work towards the betterment and advancement of the lives of people in our society, especially those who face a multitude of obstacles and struggles, such as: orphans, special needs individuals, and uncared for elderly. Together with the combined efforts of our supporters, we aim to do this through providing quality education, healthcare, and access to daily necessities. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that uncared for elderly are provided the necessary love, care, and attention they require and that each orphan and special needs individual develops into a happy, healthy, income-producing human being, and hence our foundation further also works towards the global issue of ending the cycle of poverty.
