Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Yonkers, NY. Our purpose is to help you enrich your knowledge; discover the Hellenic tradition as well as the rich treasures of the Christian Orthodox faith. Our goal and hope is for you to come to know Christ and His Church and ultimately decide to join us and become a member of this spiritually dynamic viable Greek Orthodox Parish of Prophet Elias in Yonkers, NY. Prophet Elias Church is among the Parishes of the Direct Archdiocesan District, which is under the direct authority, supervision and pastoral care of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in America. Prophet Elias church is centrally located and is the only Greek Orthodox Church in the City of Yonkers. Founded in 1940, our Parish serves the Orthodox faithful in the western part of Westchester County, along the Hudson River, starting from the upper Bronx extending as far as Ossining and the surrounding area.
