The Quantum Science Community in the Netherlands is world class. Quantum research in Delft is at the forefront of new developments with seminal discoveries in superconductor- and semiconductor-based qubits, the discovery of the Majorana fermion, and the recent demonstration of teleportation between two chips separated by more than 1 km. Established by TU Delft and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO, the focus at QuTech currently covers nearly all facets of quantum computing,including theoretical physics, new materials, quantum coding, and the actual development of (components of) a quantum computer. Qutech leads research and development in the emerging field of quantum technology.
