Saleen, a company founded by renowned race driver and automotive icon Steve Saleen, is a manufacturer of high-end lifestyle performance vehicles, technical performance parts, lifestyle accessories and apparel. Saleen designs, engineers, tests, certifies, manufactures and assembles all of its own products and vehicles. Current Saleen vehicles are: the 570 and 570X Challenger, the 302 and 302SC Mustang, and the 620 and 620X Camaro. Speed is king at Saleen. The company makes high-performance cars for both street and track. The company makes the 200 mph S7, and has partnered with Ford to manufacture high performance versions of its Mustangs and F-Series trucks. As part of its partnership with Ford Saleen has opened a facility in Troy, Michigan. Saleen also introduced the 650 horsepowered, ethanol fueled, S5S Raptor at the 2008 New York Auto Show. Saleen also makes high performance aftermarket car parts. Former racecar driver Steve Saleen founded the company in 1983 but left in 2007 shortly after the company's primary investor, Hancock Park Associates, bought fellow specialty car manufacturer Specialty Vehicle Acquisition Corp. (dba ASC).
