تأسست الشركة السعودية للكهرباء في الخامس من ابريل لعام 2000 م ، كشركة مساهمة سعودية، بموجب قرار مجلس الوزراء رقم (169) بتاريخ 11/08/1419 هـ، الذي نص على دمج جميع شركات الكهرباء السعودية في المناطق الوسطى والشرقية والغربية والجنوبية، إضافة إلى 10 شركات صغيرة تعمل شمال المملكة وتديرها المؤسسة العامة للكهرباء، لتصبح كلها شركة مساهمة واحدة تعرف الآن باسم الشركة السعودية للكهرباء. رؤيتنا أن نقدم لوطننا وعملائنا خدمات طاقة ذات مستوى عالمي. رسالتنا أن نمد المملكة بالكهرباء، لنزود العالم بالطاقة. Incorporated in accordance with Council of Ministers Mandate No. 169 dated November 30th, 1998, the Saudi Electricity Company was born out of the merger of smaller regional power company in the central, eastern, western and southern regions, as well as 10 small companies in the north of the Kingdom run by what was formerly known as the General Electricity Company.
