SIMONGRIG farm, located in the unincorporated area of Galati, on the European road E87 (Giurgiulesti Customs road) about 2 km from town, started as a family business. It was founded in 2001 by Grigore family and started work on an area of 1000 hectares, which was seeded entirely with grain. At that time the work was performed by Grigore family, with only three employees and equipment purchased in leasing system. Today, the farm has 700 hectares leased, 180 hectares are planted with vegetables (potatoes, onions, carrots, parsley, parsnip, root celery and black radish), obtaining an yield of 45 t / ha for potatoes, 60 tons / ha for onions and 45 t / ha for carrots. Currently, the total area of the wherehouse in which the company store and pack is 3,000 square meters. SIMONGRIG Romanian vegetables delivered directly to Metro CashCarry Romania, Mega Image Ltd, Lidl Discount SRL, Romania Hypermarche (Cora) and Auchan Romania and indirectly through packaging and distribution companies, products SIMONGRIG are present in retail chains like Carrefour, Billa, Penny Market and Selgros. In 2008 the SIMONGRIG Ltd company obtained the certification EUREPG.A.P. and recently won GLOBALG.A.P. certification (quality management system of vegetables and fruits). Also during 2012 was implement food safety management system, HACCP.
