Simpson Grierson is one of New Zealand's leading full service commercial law firms, and also one of the largest. How we help our clients We have specialist lawyers in all areas of commercial law, and this is reflected in how we work. This means, for example, clients do not receive employment advice from a general commercial litigator, construction advice from a property lawyer, or tax advice from a mergers and acquisitions lawyer. More so than other firms, we have strong teams in specialist areas such as intellectual property, employment, and health and safety. Increasingly we are also complementing our legal advice with consultancy services. We have many years of experience advising international companies and their professional advisers on all aspects of doing business in New Zealand. We have excellent international connections. We are New Zealand's only member of Lex Mundi, the world's leading association of independent law firms. We are also a co-founder of the Pacific Rim Advisory Council. How we support our people We understand the value of a truly inclusive workplace and champion diversity. We are already recognised as a leader in this area, and we are working hard to improve performance and outcomes. In 2014 we became the first organisation in New Zealand to be awarded the Rainbow Tick, and in 2017 we won the Supreme Award at the White Camellia Awards. We also won Employer of Choice (large law firms) at the 2018 New Zealand Law Awards. How we support our communities We take our responsibility to the communities we live in seriously. Our particular focus is to work with youth, helping them develop their full potential. We are proud to provide long-term support to organisations such as Youthline, our main community partner. We also invest significantly in providing pro bono services to community groups.
