Stary Browar is a shopping and art center located in Poznań. It is perceived as a phenomenon in global sense, it has been awarded 4 times by International Council of Shopping Centres the title of best mid sized shopping mall in Europe and the world. Stary Browar has been conceived and developed and is owned by Grażyna Kulczyk, a recognized culture animator and art collector. Forbes lists Grażyna Kulczyk as the richest woman in Poland. Stary Browar hauses over 200 shops, restaurants, cafes, a theater, a concert hall, several exhibition rooms, a cinema, 5 star award winning hotel Blow up hall, music clubs and is surrounded by historic park. It is in the center of Poznań, in a historic 19th century industrial architecture of the Hugger’s Brewery (Stary Browar means in Polish Old Brewery). This year, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Stary Browar we will start producing Hugger beer again. Stary Browar understands culture as art of everyday life. An idea 5050, which lays down the philosophical foundations for all Grażyna Kulczyk’s ventures, says that Art is the core element of any enterprise, supplemented by individual features. At Stary Browar, art is supplemented by business. This is a place where everyday pleasures become meetings with art. A place where everyone can touch, listen to and see art - and, most importantly, take part in its creation. Stary Browar won the 1st place in 2011 competition announced by National Geographic Traveler for the “New 7 wonders of Poland”.
