Summit Speech School is dedicated to a very simple goal – teaching children who are deaf or hard of hearing to listen and talk without the use of sign language – but the path to that goal is not at all simple. We work with children and their families to give the youngsters skills in listening, learning, and communicating, tools they will need to meet the challenges of the greater world. Parents and family play a key role right from the start. We build on the student’s own hearing ability, supplemented with modern technology such as hearing aids and cochlear implants. With the right education and support, even children with little or no hearing can learn to talk and become fully active participants in the hearing world.
