Terna - Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA transmits electricity over the high-voltage and extra-high voltage grid in Italy. Through subsidiaries, the Company owns a substantial share of the national electricity transmission grid. Terna turns the key to Italy's high-voltage power grid. The company, also referred to as Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale, owns more than 98% of the power grid, including about 39,500 kilometers of electric transmission lines that cover the country. It also manages 367 transforming and switching stations in Italy, as well as 18 interconnection lines with neigbhoring countries.
