The Texas Comptroller's office was originally created by the Texas provisional government in 1835. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) is a state government agency that makes a daily impact on the people and business of Texas. We serve as Texas' fiscal watchdog, accountant, tax collector and treasurer. We estimate state revenue and invest state dollars.Our office oversees other programs too. We administer college savings plans, promote energy efficiency and protecting Texas' natural resources.
