What is the Titan Barrel, simply put the Titan Barrel is a stainless steel barrel and a wooden barrel in one. The best attributes from each barrel have been combined to produce the barrel of the future. The stainless-steel shells provides the reusable backbone for the wooden heads and staves. While the wooden heads allow for the natural transfer of oxygen and along with the internal staves provide the desired flavor profile associated with a wooden barrel. How Having a background in traditional coopering and seeing how barrels are made and used in the industry we though that there had to be a better way. Traditional barrels have a limited life cycle, do not offer much in terms of customization, and waste a lot of wood. With this in mind and seeing how several other companies have tried to offer a solution to the industry but have fallen short. We sat down and said how can we do this without drifting to far from a traditional barrel, and the idea of the Titan was born Why besides of the obvious reason we developed the Titan Barrel to give winemakers option and abilities not previously available. The current barrel industry does not offer the winemakers much of a choice, you have French Oak, Eastern European Oak, American Oak, and Acacia in these toast levels and maybe we will offer you the option to have a slight hybrid with swapping a head for a diffident wood then the shell. We at Titan asked our self's why? Winemakers are like artists and we should let them express themselves by not limiting their choices when it comes to a barrel. With the Titan barrel a winemaker can use any wood that they desire inside, or they could take a barrel a mix up the toast levels or woods inside the same barrel to fit their style, their grapes, their climate. The Titan barrel also allows the winemaker to change or evolve the barrel depending on their needs, more oak or less oak from year to year, change from French in year 1 to American in year two.
