Ashtavaidyan Thaikkattu Mooss Vaidyaratnam is a family owned group of companies committed to the cause of Ayurveda. Formally established in 1941, the group carries a legacy spanning centuries. Vaidyaratnam takes pride in its unique Ashtavaidya tradition. The Eledath Thaikkatt Mooss family is a part of the rare tradition of Ashtavaidyas, providing the healing touch of Ayurveda since the legendary days of Parasurama. The family has produced many veterans of Ayurveda like Narayanan Mooss and Ittiravi Mooss of 19th century. The family’s unwavering dedication to Ayurveda was rightfully rewarded in 1924, by the then Viceroy of India, Lord Reading, who bestowed the title of “Vaidyaratnam” on Ashtavaidyan Narayanan Mooss. His son, E.T. Neelakandhan Mooss, founded the Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala in 1941. Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala has more than 550 formulations of authentic ayurvedic medicines. Traditional knowledge meets state-of-the-art technology to manufacture a wide range of efficacious medicines. Available across India, the medicines are exported to foreign countries as well. Established in 1976, the Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda College is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences and offers BAMS degree. It is one of the prominent Ayurveda colleges in India. Vaidyaratnam Ayurvedic Research Centre and Charitable Hospital is a trust that became operational since 1992 which was renamed as “Vaidyaratnam Ayurveda Foundation” in 2009. In 2010, The Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. Of India, upgraded this institution as a “Centre of Excellence in Ayurvedic Management of Chronic Joint Disorders”.
