Valley Fig Growers is a cooperative that was established in 1959 in Fresno, California and is the largest dried fig handler in North America. All of the commercially sold dried figs produced in the United States are grown in the Fresno area and north, in the fertile San Joaquin Valley. California represents 10% of the world production of dried figs. Valley Fig Growers markets its products both domestically and internationally. We offer both industrial and retail products sold under Valley Fig Growers own brand names of Blue Ribbon Orchard Choice, Old Orchard, Sun-Maid and Blue Ribbon. Industrial products include; whole, paste (seeded, deseeded, textured), diced/sliced, concentrate, extruded (e-diced and colored & flavored) along with fig balsamic vinegar and our own California fig spread line. Valley Fig Growers was founded in 1959. The company's line of business includes providing farm services such as crop harvesting. If fig lovers had their own political party, they'd hold the convention in Fresno. This California city and the nearby San Joaquin Valley produce all of the commercially sold dried figs in the US. Naturally, the 30-member fig cooperative known as the Valley Fig Growers calls Fresno home. The co-op's products, which include fig paste, nuggets, concentrate, filling, and powder, as well as whole, diced, and sliced dried figs, are shipped all over the world. Its brands include Blue Ribbon Orchard Choice and Sun-Maid. Valley Fig's customers include retail food stores, other food manufacturers, and foodservice providers.
