VAN AMEYDE MARINE is a 24-hours available independent marine survey company, with offices in The Netherlands and Belgium, operating mainly for P&I Clubs and carriers, with a team of well trained and educated surveyors. Our surveyors followed Higher Nautical Education and have sea-going experience as an officer (often Master or C/E certificate). We can be of service when incidents occur by attending the scene and investigating the situation. Our experience and knowledge will be used to find the best solutions to limit the losses, whilst we also monitor our Principal’s interests. A report of facts is issued, which contains both the extent and the causal aspects, all on a basis without prejudice. We have specialists on different cargoes, such as fruit, chemicals etc. Apart from cargoes, our specialists also deal with oil spillages, bunker disputes, operational issues, condition surveys, lashing/securing of heavy cargoes, consultancy, mediation etc. Furthermore, our surveyors are excellent contingency managers: we co-ordinate salvage operations and wreck removals, and conduct General Average surveys. Our staff include trained ISM (International Safety Management) auditors. The ISM Code aims to ensure the safe operation of ships and the prevention of human injury, loss of life and environmental pollution. To keep abreast of the latest technology and developments, we are members of various professional forums and associations, including the International Cold Chain Technology (ICCT), “Careful to Carry” forums and the national association “Nivre”.
