Vetrox: The Origin Bernhard Dur is the Swiss inventor and designer of the Vetrox glass polishing system. A mechanical engineer by trade and after completing a 40-year career in the automotive industry Bernhard began the 6-year process of developing Vetrox. Like many new technologies the origin of Vetrox lays in the old saying “necessity is the mother of all invention”. The inspiration for Vetrox came from a chance discussion Bernhard had with a friend who worked in the glass installation industry. The friend complained that on his latest project the glass had got scratched after install and that the existing polishing systems available on the market could not deliver a quality finish. From Bernhard’s laboratory near the shore of Lake Zurich the design process began with the aim of developing a glass polishing system that could: “Consistently deliver a quality finish in a timely and safe manner” Vetrox: Quality Delivery Strategy -Key personnel are trained at the Vetrox labs in Switzerland. -Set methodology check points followed for safe efficient work practices. -All materials including protective tapes, cleaning solutions and lubricants are sourced from Swiss supplier list. -Client sign off forms enable close quality and progress monitoring. -Site specific safety policy developed and implemented within client’s framework to ensure efficient work method. A well-developed technological system combined with a close monitoring training process enables Vetrox to consistently deliver a quality finish for our clients.
