Virgüez & Associates, LLC was founded by attorney Luis A. Virgüez out of a desire to protect the rights of individuals and families in the Atlanta community. He immigrated to the United States with his parents when he was a 8 years old. His experiences as an immigrant inspired him to pursue a legal career with a focus on human rights and immigration. One of his most notable experiences occurred in law school when he was involved with the Chicano Latino Law Student Association (CLLSA) and in the Arizona State Immigration Clinic. During his participation in the clinic, Virgüez worked closely with abandoned or orphan children and battered spouses. He facilitated the process of obtaining legal immigration status through Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). He was able to connect with the youth and their families in meaningful ways. After law school, Virgüez was inspired to make a difference. He initiated his legal career at a non-profit organization handling immigration cases such as VAWA and family petitions. In 2009, he co-founded his first successful law firm. The firm grew to become a high-volume boutique law firm. In 2016 he decided to establish new headquarters in Norcross and launched Virgüez & Associates. While the Virgüez & Associates team manages cases for a diverse population we are well known for protecting the rights of Hispanics in the Atlanta community. Our staff is fully bilingual and sensitive to the nuances of defending the rights of the diverse community we practice in. We support community events on a regular basis and often contribute to community initiatives to raise awareness about legal matters. You can see Attorney Virgüez as a regular guest on Telemundo Atlanta each week with Paula Rodriguez, reporting on immigration issues during an “Immigration Minute” program. He has also been interviewed by other members of the Telemundo team such as Jorge Buzo, Irene Diaz-Bazan and Annie Tejada about controversial cases and legislation that affects the Hispanic community in Atlanta. The Mundo Hispanico team also has interviewed Attorney Virgüez as an expert commentator on their news stories. He has had the honor of collaborating with Mario Guevara and Carlos Moreno on their news stories.
