What started in 2002 as a small grain transloading company – founded on a five-acre property on Annacis Island by Brian Atkins – has become a comprehensive logistics service provider and an industry leader in special grains and crops agri-logistics in British Columbia and across Canada. Western Transloading Corporation, now known as WTC Group, has markedly expanded in both size and scope while maintaining the core values that have afforded it the reputation of being a reliable and trustworthy business partner. WTC has developed a vast network of partners allowing it the capacity to make a front-door pick up anywhere in the world and have the goods shipped to all corners of the globe. And this same network, coupled with the company’s know-how and expertise, has resulted in an ability to ship via sea (FCL or LCL), land and air, depending on the customer’s needs. An 85,000 square-foot warehouse acquired in 2010 enabled WTC Group to expand its consolidation and deconsolidation capabilities for inbound and outbound traffic. What’s more, it allowed the company to offer full warehousing services, adding yet another crucial logistical service to its repertoire. With the addition of Jordan Atkins – Brian’s son and current Vice President of WTC Group – the team at WTC Group became a veritable family business and began its streak of impressive growth.
