The Washington Karate Association (WKA) was established by Hanshi Julius Thiry in November 1966 and has been a familiar icon to Seattle residents for 50 years. Today, the WKA remains the benchmark for excellence in traditional karate in Washington State. The Washington Karate Association is a member of the International Hayashi-Ha Shitoryu Federation.
