Founded in 2012, Watercolours and Lace is the creation of Julie Harris, a Norfolk-born botanical artist, indie dyer and knitwear designer. Julie hand paints yarns in luxury natural fibres - alpaca, cashmere, silk, mohair, camelhair and quality wools, including some from rare British sheep breeds like Norfolk Horn, North Ronaldsay, Teeswater and Wensleydale - all individually hand dyed in small batches so that every dyelot is unique. Her colour palette is inspired by the flowers and landscapes that she paints. Her yarns are mainly designed for, and particularly suited to, lace techniques. She is also a knitwear designer, creating and selling patterns and accessories from her exclusive yarns. Her products are sold at major needlecraft events around the UK, online worldwide via her website at www.watercoloursandlace.co.uk, and on Etsy.
