He became so renowned for his attention to detail that business boomed. In 1928, Gesserd bought his first moving truck and named the company “Western Express” for its location in Western Baltimore. Today, Western Express is headquartered just eight miles from the US Capitol Building, and the same drive, dedication and spirit lives on at Western Express.
