At Willamette Valley Vineyards, our mission in growing cool-climate varietals is to create elegant, classic Oregon wines. We use sustainable practices in growing and vinifying our winegrapes. A combination of determination and extraordinary people has brought us from an idea to one of the region's leading wineries, earning the title "One of America's Great Pinot Noir Producers," from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Our Founder, Jim Bernau, believes Pinot Noir made with consideration for the environment, employees, and community simply tastes better. With that purpose, Willamette Valley Vineyards and Jim Bernau have been recognized for socially responsible winegrowing by LIVE (Low Impact Viticulture and Enology) as well as receiving the Sustainable Standard-Setter award from the Rainforest Alliance for their use of FSC Certified cork. In 2014, Jim was honored with the Los Heroes de Salud! award for his contributions in providing healthcare to Oregon’s vineyard workers. Willamette Valley Vineyards, Inc. produces and sells premium, super premium, and ultra-premium varietal table wines made from grapes grown at its vineyard and nearby vineyards. The Company's wines are fermented at its winery. Wines are sold under the Willamette Valley Vineyards label. Oregon Pinot Noir Manufactures wines, brandy & brandy spirits Wine, Beer, Cider or perry, Fortified wine, Sparkling wine, Spirits or liquors, Alcohol cocktails or drink mixes, Fresh tropical fruit juice or concentrate, Fresh melon juice or concentrates, Beverages, Coffee and tea, Alcoholic beverages, Non alcoholic beverages, Fresh citrus juice or concentrate Willamette Valley Vineyards is a leading producer of premium varietal wines, including chardonnay, dry riesling, and pinot gris, along with its flagship pinot noir. In addition to Willamette Valley, it also makes wine under the Tualatin Estates and Griffin Creek labels. The winemaker owns, leases, or contracts almost 800 acres of vineyards and produced about 121,000 cases of wine during 2008. Its wines are sold in Oregon through its Bacchus Fine Wines distribution operation and are available elsewhere in the US through other distributors and brokers. Founder and CEO Jim Bernau owns 12% of the company.
