Zia Pia imports brings to you the finest specialty artisanal Italian foods. Our suppliers are non-industrial, typically small, family-owned producers who have been using the same, traditional methods for centuries. Visit our new kitchen in the 7th Street Public Market where we prepare our foods using simple, traditional recipes, focused on highlighting quality ingredients imported directly from Italy and sourced locally. Named for Aunt, or “Zia”, Pia Custodi in Orvieto, Italy, as extraordinary a person as she was a cook, and who took great care in her selection of ingredients, we aim to embody the traditional values and old-world techniques she held dear: simplicity, care and quality of ingredients. It is with these values in mind that we set forth to make available those pure, unadulterated, and sometimes difficult to find ingredients to all who appreciate them here in the US. These are Italy’s best foods from exceptional suppliers. Think artisanal, durum wheat semolina pastas, authentic egg pasta from Campofilone, stone-ground artisanal flours, jarred tomatos grown under the Pugliese sun, carnaroli rice fed with water from the Alps, organic artisanal chocolate from Modica and Piedmont, hand-stretched breadsticks, organic olive oils from Umbria and Tuscany, balsamic vinegars from Modena, condiments, pestos, spreads and jams. and much more. Zia Pia serves fine specialty and food stores, restaurants, and also welcomes individual orders. No order is too big or too small.
